Elf Chronicles-final week

I have actually had fun doing silly stuff with the Elf this year and only forgot one day, not too shabby. I hope Brady promptly forgets these for next year so I can reuse the ideas because I can't fathom coming up with 20 something more ideas. Anywho, here are the ones from the past week.

He was laying on the couch under a "blanket" with the remote watching cartoons.  Brady got a kick out of this one.

This was probably mine and Brady's favorite trick.  We went around that night taking pictures of the Elf all over the house.... hanging upside down on the blinds, standing next to the giant ruler to see how tall he is, getting stuck in toys, etc.  The last picture we took was of Frankenstein sitting on a sleeping Brady.  I left the camera out with Frankenstein the next morning and Brady LOVED flipping through the pictures to see the silly things Frankenstein did the night before.

We are lucky Brady is still too young to see just how wrong this one was, but I thought it was funny.
Frankenstein sampled a few beers tonight

Frankenstein made one of those singing/dancing elf movies with our pictures.  He spent almost an hour watching them over and over again.

He was in the mixer reminding us to make cookies for Santa.  Don't tell Frankenstein I cheated and used break and bake cookie dough.

The last night, Frankenstein was out on the porch wearing his scarf looking for Santa and admiring the neighbors decorations.

See you next year Frankenstein!!  Well I will see you tomorrow since you are hiding in my underwear drawer until we get out the Christmas decoration tubs to put away the decorations.  Can't have Brady seeing that Frankenstein didn't in fact go back to the North Pole.

Elf Chronicles- week 2

I have a few pics from the last week of the Elf Frankenstein's tricks.  I can't believe I am still doing semi-creative things, I would have thought I would have given up by now.

This is tonight's that he will see in the morning.  He is HUGE into playing school so the Elf is playing teacher with a mini pencil from IKEA and a sheet of paper.  This is one of my favorites so far.

The Elf brought an awesome countdown ornament from Hallmark that counts down to the second until Christmas.

He totally cracked up at this one.  I ended up putting the Elf up on a ledge while Brady was at school because I wanted to put the M&Ms away so I would stop eating them.  When he got home he noticed right away I moved him and I asked why.  I told him he had a belly ache and he thought that was hysterical.

One night the Elf made a long line of Cars cars.  He also loved this one.  I didn't love the clean up of all the cars after the kids drove them all out of line.

This one totally cracked him up.  The Elf pulled the toilet paper from the bathroom and down the hallway.  I saw this before Brady saw me so I started yelling in typical Mom fashion "who made such a mess?" and he was so glad to be able to tell me it was Frankenstein.

The Elf Chronicles

Our Elf on the Shelf has been visiting us for a week now.  We did this last year a little differently.  Last year he just hid somewhere in the house and when Brady found him he got a little gift.  It was mostly Dollar Spot crap that I ended up throwing out so this year I wanted to switch things up.  And last year, Brady didn't really "get" the whole concept that the elf was watching him to tell Santa if he has been naughty or nice.  But this year.... he totally gets it.  After reading the book this year he named him Frankenstein and he has been doing silly tricks all week.

And before I get to the pics from the week let me tell you just how much he "gets" it now.  One day Frankenstein was hanging out in Brady's stocking which is hung high above the sliding door in the living room.  He wasn't being very nice to Harper and I reminded him that Frankenstein was watching and would be telling Santa that night that he wasn't being a good boy.  So he looks suspiciously up at the elf and goes on his way.  A few minutes later he goes over to Harper to steal a toy from her and must have remembered that the elf was watching and looks up at him and then starts kissing Harper, hugs her, and tells he he loves her.  All of this was done while looking up to make sure the elf saw him being nice to her.  I was totally cracking up.

Frankenstein took apart his truck.  He delivered a box of candy canes (which Brady has been asking me for)

The first night the tree was up, the elf took the balls off the tree, he thought this was hysterical.  He took a cruise in the Hess truck.

He took a snooze on the tissue box.  Another morning the elf was in the fridge sitting with the milk. I made him a little scarf to stay warm.  This was my favorite so far and probably Brady's since he has been looking in the fridge and freezer every morning to see if he is hiding in there.

The first night he read a new book to the Toy Story gang and then Brady got to keep the Llama Llama Holiday Drama book.
And so it begins. Tonight he decided to name him Frankenstein. I hope he forgets that name overnight.

I have lots of other ideas that I can't wait to do in the next few weeks.
