Harper's 1st haircut

I finally talked Jim into cutting Harper's hair.  Actually the conversation went something like this:

Me: I don't care what you say, we are taking Harper for a haircut today.
Jim: (silence)

I have been talking about it constantly over the last few weeks and take the time to point out all the times it looks mullet-like and awful.  He finally gave in so after lunch at Panera we went to a salon I read about online that has a kid's 1st haircut certificate and kiddie chairs to ride in.

The stylist had the personality of a glob of toothpaste and barely spoke to us but I think she did a good job.  I mean there aren't any huge chunks missing and it looks pretty even.  I didn't give much in terms of what I was looking for in a 1st haircut and this is just what she did.  It looks like equal parts of cute toddler girl bob and amish boy haircut.  She didn't wet it or even comb it when we were done so we washed it tonight and brushed it.  Fingers crossed it looks cute in the morning!!

Here are some more pics from the outing.  And how cute is her dress?  Uncle Nanny made it for her birthday.  I just love it!!  Although I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of the diaper cover that matches and it super cute!!  So if any of my aunts are reading this, can you show Nan the blog next time she visits and then tell her she needs to get the internet.    And while I am giving shout outs, how about those shoes?  My mother in law found them for $2 and they are awesome for 3 reasons.  They fit, they are adorable, and they don't look like I trash picked them.  Woohoo!!  But they are really easy for her to take off so I need to be on my game or else she will throw it over the side of the stroller when I am not looking.

I guess in my head I thought she would just sit and totally cooperate.  Not the case.  She went ballistic trying to climb back out of the police car and didnt want that cape anywhere near her.

We switched spots because she wasn't too interested in me and I was hoping Dad would do the trick, and he did.  She loves him!!

There was a TV in this kid's section and she didn't look at it for even a second, she just isn't interested in tv like a certain someone else I know.  I asked Brady if he would like to go have his haircut there and he said no but he would go back to watch tv.

Thanksgiving crafts

Over the last few weeks we have done some crafts and made some crap related to Thanksgiving. And of course I should have posted this prior to Thanksgiving but I am a total slacker.

One of my favorite crafts we made was this yarn turkey.  I saw the idea in Parents magazine and after we made Brady's thankful list I got to work.  I love it, although it is NOT a kid's toy.  It was hard because Brady wanted to touch it and play with it but that resulted in a decapitation, nothing a little hot glue couldn't fix.

I made a felt bunting after seeing it on Pinterest and I am so glad I did.  It was time consuming but very easy and the tiny little clothespins were so cute.

We made hand print turkeys and surprisingly her's turned out well.  She is still pretty spazzy when it comes to painting hand prints but did a great job.

We have the PBK Thanksgiving countdown tree but its intended purpose is to write something you are thankful for each day and stick the paper in the pocket.  We aren't quite there yet so I made this cute little turkey stick to move each day.  I made a pumpkin one for our Halloween countdown but I never took a picture.  Oh well.

We also made stained glass leaves but I can't find them, haha.  We made them, I cut them out, and then they walked away.  Oh well.  Maybe we will try it again next year.

I also made THESE handprint turkey cards but only with Brady, he looked forward to giving them out on Thanksgiving.

Uber random catch up post

Here are a bunch of pictures in no particular order....

Their new favorite spot to hang out is under this table.  She bangs her head no less than 12 times every time they go under down there.

This beefcake enjoyed her first chocolate donut on Thanksgiving morning. Jim also informed her it will be her last, she made a huge mess.

Brady's family portrait.  That's me on the left, Jim on the right, and the kids in the middle.  I have "crazy hair" and Jim is wearing glasses and has a chin, haha.  The chin is the tiny circle below his head.

Brady's school had a Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday morning.  We all went to spend the morning with Brady.  Eating with his 2 favorites girls.

Now that she is walking its time for her to wear her pink Uggs.  I wanted to practice wearing them for a bit inside because they are kind of bulky.  She was cracking me up hanging out in her diaper and Uggs.
