4 months old

4 months old and entering my favorite baby age which brings a baby who is fat, happy, and totally immobile.  Finley Jane continues to be loved and adored.  She really is the sweetest little person who we all love being around.  She just hangs out waiting patiently for someone to pay attention to her.

She wears size 2 diapers and size 3-6 months clothes.  She drinks 4 bottles a day 5/6oz each.  She goest to sleep around 7/7:30 and makes it until around 6 most days, where she sucks back her bottle and goes back to sleep around 7:30 when the herd comes running down the stairs.  She loves being swaddled at night and also loves her binky.

She doesn't do many tricks at this point and that's quite alright with me.  I love immobile babies!!  She seems to be getting into some kind of routine (when we are home) and its getting easy to know when she is ready for a nap.  When she lays on her playmat she is starting to reach for the toys and gets so excited.  The girls love showing her baby toys and she will grab them.

She has the smelliest hands and sometimes the smell makes me almost vomit.  I bathed her last night and immediately afterwards still almost barfed, its almost like it permanent.  Her feet also get stinky but I find that to be adorable.  She is so happy when she first wakes up and the smiles make my day.

Her hair is absolutely different from any of the other kids, its darker and curly.  I cannot wait to see how it turns out.  After a tub its so super curly but loosens up after it dries.  Her eyes are still blue and I'm guessing they will stay that way but I wouldn't be surprised if they are a darker than the others.

She really is just a happy and content little girl and we love her so much.

Jim's input for the month:
She is a lot of fun to spend time with. I love the little giggles and big smiles when I flip her upside down, but also the startled face when I lift her up as well. She does need to sleep an extra hour or two in the night, work on that baby.

At this point I had Jim move to the other side of me hoping she would look at my camera, but no she just followed him.  Haha.

I love this, she tipped over and was so pissed for about 4 seconds.

baptism

When Brady was born we lived out of state and having him baptized seemed like a difficult thing to organize.  I just figured I would have another kid, find a home church, and then do it then.  In the meantime I decided the catholic church wasn't for me and we just kinda floated around.  Fast forward to 4 kids and we have since become members of the Presbyterian church and couldn't be happier.  So we had all 4 kids baptized a few weeks back and they did great.

They do the baptisms at our church once a month and on that day each month I cry at this point of the ceremony.  The pastors carry the newly baptized children through the congregation talking about how they are welcomed into this community.  The idea of community and welcoming with open arms is the exact reason we feel so at home in the Presbyterian church, well that plus the fact that they welcome gay marriage and allow women to be church leaders.  I didn't actually cry during their baptism because I was so overwhelmed with having to stand in front of the congregation wearing my extra 956lbs of pregnancy weight, but that's a whole other post.

spaghetti night

I noticed this sweet baby sitting on the counter and it just shocked me how big she already is.  And she is totally eyeing up our food.  I bet she will be enjoying these meatballs in another month or so.  I skip the whole baby food thing, going right to real food just soft and small, so I bet these meatballs will be an early start.  They are Jim's famous meatballs that he makes every few weeks or so and the recipe is a Pioneer Woman recipe that we just bake in the oven.

bumbo

I swore she wouldn't be ready yet for this thing, but sure enough she loved it.  How is it possible she is big enough already????  This sweet baby is just so happy to have us pay attention to her and when she sits here they just love it.  All gathered around fussing over her.  So cute!!

And you better believe I put her in these jammies on purpose for these pictures because I have pictures of the other 2 girls in the bumbo in these jammies.  They have since been retired because they are too small.  Insert crying emoji here, so sad.
