Halloween Birthday Bash {details}

Finally.... the last of the pictures from the party last weekend.  I have a few pictures of the details.  I wish I had taken more but that didn't happen.  We went through our Halloween decorations and used as much as we could.  It was so easy!!  I did make a few things but most everything else we already had.

We tore the mantel off and to distract from the gaping hole I hung up our Halloween artwork there, haha. (and for the record we still don't have a mantel)


I made a googly eye frame and Brady loved it!!


Another favorite, the bats!!  I really liked them because they distracted from the ugliness known as the kitchen.


I had the candy corn bunting, table runner and placemats, and magnetic skeleton from last Halloween.


I saw these mummy cupcakes made a few ways and this was my take on it. 


I made these bags for each of the little kids so they would have it to trick or treat and then for the pinata.  Can you believe that you can buy a pumpkin pinata and candy corn in May??  Gotta love Oriental Trading and amazon.com. 


So the kids trick or treated around the house and Brady loved it!! 

As soon as I saw this idea I knew I HAD to make it.  I took Brady to Target with me the day I bought the mini marshmallows.  He told everyone we saw about how "my mom is making ghost poop for my birthday party."  Imagine the weird looks we got. 


I don't remember where I saw this idea and I didn't pin it so who knows.  Very easy, wrap a Hershey's bar in white streamers and insert googly eyes.


Jack o lantern seeds


I made this orange soda bottle jack o lantern.

I made this adorable embroidered spider web.  Mine looks just like one on that site but I guess I never took a picture of it.

Aaarrrgghhhh Matey

Brady decided a few weeks ago he wanted to be a pirate for his Halloween birthday party.  I got Nan onboard and she and I planned out their costumes.  She whipped them up in no time and I LOVE how they turned out.  I was smart and had them dress up the day before the party to take pictures before things got hectic with the party.  Brady was so freaking excited to put this costume on and was pretty bummed when I made him take it off afterwards. 



She looks so ridiculous and cute.

He seriously loved being a pirate and needed no lesson on how to act.














She was so pissed when he did this, but he was trying to keep her with him.  Hahaha.




After pictures we went to rest.  She was almost naked by the time we went back inside the house, just kept removing articles of clothing until she was just wearing a diaper and shoes.  And sparkly shoes at that!!

Happy Birthday Brady

My sweet baby boy turned 4 on Saturday and I am still not sure how the heck time has flown so fast.  We were able to celebrate his birthday and party on the same day, score!!  I have lots of pictures to share, so get ready.

The day started off with me running to the grocery store to buy him a donut so we could sing HBD to him.  Yes, I got up at 6:45am without a fight.  Anything for my baby.  He thought this was so great!!

OK this is where I admit that I SUCKED at taking pictures at the party.  Brady chose a halloween themed party and we asked guests to wear costumes.  And when I tell you every person showed up with a costume, I mean seriously every person had a costume.  And me.... I didn't take pictures :(  I really regret not setting up a photo station of some sorts to get pics right when people walked in.  My family and friends are such good sports!!  And I totally understand why people hire photographers to do kid's birthday parties, I should have done that.

Tom and Jim were Rock em Sock em Robots (or at least that's what they were supposed to be).  Here they are beating on each other.








OK trick or treating (yup, no pictures of the kids trick or treating) we went out to break the pinata.




Thankfully my cousin Charlie was there to break it open, that's him in the brown shirt and buzz cut.
