a really great weekend

For the first weekend in a while we had almost nothing on the schedule, which was really awesome.

It started on Friday night at the pool.  We went and had dinner and Brady finally got to cash in his bribe from a few weeks ago and got to get a Chipwich.  Their minds practically exploded from this excitement, haha.  And then they let the baby lick theirs and this was her reaction....
The big kids let her lick their chipwiches. It was like the best day of her life!!

Saturday morning we had Brady's first Mini Meet for swimming.  He swam freestyle and backstroke and did a great job!!  It was hot and sunny and the baby was a nudge but it was still so fun.
Just where I want to spend my Saturday morning. Nope. At least they are cute.

On Saturday afternoon I was out watering my flowers when one thing led to another and somehow this happened.  I pulled them a mile through our neighborhood and we ended up at a stream throwing rocks.  Brady told me I got the cool mom trophy for the day.  I even brought the dog with us and he swam and the stream while we threw rocks.  All of this happened while Jim napped on the couch (don't be surprised that I had to throw him under the bus, haha).
That's like 90lbs of kid right there and I pulled them for a mile through the neighborhood. Brady told me I get the cool mom trophy when we stopped at a stream to throw rocks.

The girls spent time getting dirty and eating leaves in the backyard.

On Saturday night we went to try a new restaurant that opened up here that we used to go to when we lived up in New England, Not Your Average Joes.  It was not as good as we remember it being but the dessert was beyond delicious.  We packed bathing suits before leaving home and had an hour to kill before bedtime so we went to the pool.  Emerson is getting better about tolerating the pool and we sat and watched the kids play.
Perfect night for a trip to the pool.

My favorite one from tonight. Poor baby haha.

Overgramming at its finest. I have a bunch I need to share. I love how he is covering her mouth to stop her from talking. We all wish we could do that.

And then today started in one of my favorite ways... Sunday Spin class.  Its an hour class followed by a core class and I just love it.
Oh Sunday spin class, I missed you!!

Big Baby took a 4 hour nap this afternoon and the big kids went to the pool.  She woke up with a slight fever and let me snuggle while she drank her bottle.

This kids thought this was great, the cat sat on Brady's soccer game.  And seriously, I still can't believe we have 2 kitties.

happy anniversary to us

Last Tuesday was our 8th wedding anniversary.  We didn't do much to celebrate that day since it was just boring stuff like swim practices and a swim meet and a Union game that only Jim and the big kids attended (we learned our lesson bringing Emerson last time).

So this past weekend Jim and I went for our weekend at the beach to celebrate.  My really super duper awesome inlaws took the kids for us for the weekend and we are so thankful. Emerson did great being away from us, since she normally hates anyone holding her other than Jim or I or maybe a grumpy grandfather for a few minutes.

We started the weekend off by going out for Happy Hour on Friday night which turned into one too many beers.  Note to self... pack for a weekend away prior to the morning of because chances are you will forget to pack any shirts.  Not that it happened to me.  Ok wait, it totally happened.  Never again.  We drove to Sea Isle on Saturday morning and stayed until Monday.

Here are a bunch of cell pics from our weekend and some I stole from Tina of the kid's weekend.

This is one of my all time favorites views.... just us, plenty to read, and no distractions.
A 3.5 mile run, breakfast, and now this. I'm so good at vacationing without kids.

After watching USA lose we made it for a night walk on the beach.
Last night of vacation was celebrated with USA soccer, beers, dinner, and a walk on the beach.

And the pictures of the kids...

dance party

Its only been about a week of summer vacation and we are already getting sick of each other.  OK maybe not them but I miss my freedom and routine from when they were both in school.  We have swim practice every morning.  Brady practices from 8:30-9:30 and Harper practices from 11:30-12.  So you can imagine how much that sucks for going back and forth and entertaining the baby for that whole time.  But only a few more weeks until swim team is done and we can go back to a slight morning routine, which really just involves me going to the Y and leaving them in the childcare but hey I need that "me" time.

Anyway, one afternoon last week he got himself on my computer and was playing dance party music for the girls who would then dance like loons.  And I am not sure why the girls have nothing on, but I guess I should be happy they were since the dirty laundry seems to be delivered by the truck load each day.

And now that I have posted these I remember there was a video to go along with it so I will have to see where that is and post it here.  I may get to that in say 8 or 9 days, I seem to suck at staying current lately.
