He is a fiercely smart and caring kid. He wants to win and be good at everything (just like me, and that's not always a good thing). He loves to read and this makes me so proud, he just started reading Harry Potter on his own. Insane!! He loves anything related to sports and will watch literally any sporting event even if its a 30 year old game of bowling. He is so protective of his baby (Emerson) and tolerates Harper most days. Some days I even catch them being sweet with each other and snuggling to read or hugging for comfort after she gets hurt. This past year he started to have opinions on his hair and clothes (which is so hard for me to give up that control). He loves wearing sports clothes and wishes his hair touched his eyes (neither of which I like). He crushed it playing basketball and baseball this winter/spring. He got a basketball hoop for the street for his birthday and has been LOVING that. Actually Jim and our neighbor Tommy have probably enjoyed it most but that's because they play on a 7 foot hoop and feel so cool dunking, dorks.
Here is my sweet boy on the morning of his birthday.
The Sunday before his birthday the grandparents all came over to cake. He just opened up his bag of sports clothes from Mema and immediately went to change into as many articles of clothing as possible.
And a few 7 year pics on the porch. He is holding up 7 fingers, his idea, and thought it would look like he was throwing a baseball.
And only because I love to make myself cry over my kids growing up here is a picture from each year at his birthday. Sweet sweet boy.
